National Skin Cancer Centres are unique medical practices, purpose-built and dedicated to delivering effective, quick and low-cost access to diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers and related conditions. Working with primary care physicians who have a special interest in skin cancer, we currently operate eight centres across Australia with plans to expand into new locations.

The Role

We are seeking a mature, friendly Nurse (EN or RN) to join our team on a casual basis. You will work closely with Promotional Ambassador - Skin Cancer to implement targeted campaigns to educate the community on skin health in order to grow our patient database.

Our current campaign entails offering free skin health assessments at retail outlets and community events (using the Reveal Imager) and converting prospectives into patients (by booking in full skin checks at one of our centres). The key responsibilities of the this role will entail: 

  • Providing skin health consultations using the Reveal Imager during our community events in the Melbourne area
  • Assisting the Promotional Ambassador in setting up equipment and managing bookings
  • Positioning National Skin Cancer Centres as a sincere and reputable provider of skin cancer education and community health

Work will be rostered on an as needs basis but we anticipate the average work over an eight week period would entail approximately sixteen days out on location, i.e. four separate promotion campaigns (4 days per campaign, 8:30am-4.30 pm per day) over a two month period


You are:

  • patient focussed and enjoy educating the general public
  • pro-active, confident and well presented 
  • mature, approachable and reliable
  • flexible with regards to days worked
  • authorised to work in Australia

In addition, you have: 

  • qualifications as a nurse with experience in skin cancer medicine (preferred) or a strong desire to learn about skin cancer medicine
  • a working knowledge of Best Practice (desired but not required)
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • high attention to detail
  • mature and sensitive approach when dealing with prospective patients
  • a "can do" attitude
